    1. The nostalgia journey continues. This volume is better plot-wise, although the cop cases the characters struggle with are barely there, more as background for their relationship than anything else but I'm okay with that. As for the relationship itself, there is something I miss in so many love stories nowadays - yeah, the characters were attracted to each other pretty quickly but from the start they get to know each other, learn about each other and start to fall for each other because of their [...]

    2. Volume 2 brings more sexual tension, and it's fantastic, if a bit repetitive (does Dee have to throw down Ryo every time? Is that all the Matoh finds romantic?)Matoh does the yaoi elements really well. It's the rest of the book that really suffers. And for whatever reason, she has much more of a focus on her horrible plot and secondary characters than she does on the relationship of her leads. There are still plenty of weird, awkward lines that make me wonder about the translation 'I gotta use t [...]

    3. Dee and Ryo escape to a lake resort for a vacation only to find murder. Second story, we learn more about Dee's past.

    4. Ryo and Dee can't stop being cops, even while on vacation in England! When a body is found by the hotel in which they are staying, their interest is piqued, even as they try to keep their eyes on the prize and enjoy their vacation. (Well, Ryo focuses on relaxing. Dee's eyes are on Ryo the whole time!) That doesn't mean the crime won't be solved, though! Berkley Rose, another NY state cop, is also vacationing close by and he's on the case like a hound dog with a scent! While I like this series and [...]

    5. This is the volume the OVA is based on (^^) The manga this far is very enjoyable. I don't know how to say this exactly but sometimes the way the characters are acting could be seen as a little bit silly (?) but it is actually working for me (like when Bikky and Dee are fighting over Ryo). They make me chuckle all the time. Then there are the romantic and tender moments between Dee and Ryo. Dee is determined to become Ryo's lover who is still hesitant. But Ryo definitely cares for Dee and starts [...]

    6. Fake #2 picks up where #1 left off. Police Officer Dee has pleaded his way into taking off some vacation time along with his partner Ryo. Ryo went along with the plans because he was under the impression that their young friend Bikky would be joining them. Sounds weird, but this book is so far from reality that you just have to go with it. Anyway, Dee has plans to seduce naive Ryo but of course that doesn't work out when Bikky and Carol show up and then Dee & Ryo find themselves smack in the [...]

    7. 2nd in the fantastic 7 book buddy-cop/romance series Fake. 1st story is the arc that was used in the anime - Ryo and Dee go on vacation together in England and stumble across a murderer targeting Japanese victims. Ryo is in danger when the killer finds out about his Japanese heritage. Can Dee save him in time? 2nd story has Dee take his partner to the orphanage where he was raised only to have it attacked by greedy property developpers. To end we have a cute Bikky/Carol interlude as the pair bot [...]

    8. The quirky, sexually charged crime investigations by Dee and Ryo continue in a volume involving a murder mystery on a remote resort hotel and a violent bombing of a monastery. The two tales are quite different, both weak in plot but good in what actually counts here, that is to say character interaction. The story about the monastery also manages to sneak in some deeper substance, while staying true to the series' extravagant tone.I am a bit worried after two volumes, because as skillfully as th [...]

    9. The story of Dee and Ryo's vacation in England and the subsequent murder mystery they get involved in is probably my least favourite of these stories (and of course, just my luck, made up the bulk of the plot for the anime). That said, I adore Dee's back story about his childhood in an orphanage being cared for by a nun, who is the children's surrogate mother, and Ryo starting to think more about what Dee means to him. I also love the bonus Bikky/Carol story, where they are both a bit older but s [...]

    10. Out of all the books, this one definitely rates as one of the highest, if not the highest for me. Maybe because the OVA is based mainly around it? Or maybe because some of the best almost love scenes happen while they're away, and this is where we see the relation get deeper and more meaningful. We also see the dynamics between the characters blossom- Carol and Bikky especially, but the character of Berkley plays a role as well. Beautifully drawn as ever, another five star book!

    11. I enjoyed the cases and secondary characters in this volume more than the relationship of the main characters - they seem a bit clichéd, their attraction is purely physical with no depth, and I sometimes feel uncomfortable with how forceful Dee is - he even ignores and mocks the idea of consent. If I ignore that, then the stories are harmful fun.

    12. The adventures of two gay New York cops continues. This is a very readable manga with all sorts of side stories going on to hold your interest.

    13. I remembered this as being my favourite volume, but I don't think it is any more. Too many ghosts and stuff. But it was still amazing.

    14. Some of the 'cop slang' is pretty funny, but the rest is just okay. Probably won't be continuing the series.

    15. hey little momma let me whisper in yo eartell you a thing you might not wanna heareverytime dee tries to pull his seducing shtickladies see that, start whispering ick2.5 stars

    16. I love how informal the author's notes are at the end of each volume. It makes you feel almost like the story was written especially for you.

    17. Wow, this is series is getting better and better. The police stories are really good, and the romantic part is seriously teasing.
