    1. Vic Guhrs shares firsthand of raising his family among a Zambian Safari camp run by his father-in-law. The stories are interesting, funny and at times bittersweet. The people who work at these camps are like no other. The best part is when the author, a German who moved to America after years int he bush, shares about the paradox of feeling out of place in the West as well as in Africa as a white person.     4. This book deserves 5 stars in my opinion because I always think that the sign of a good book, or a good writer, for that matter, is the ability to elicit emotions. The emotions I felt reading this book were enormous, and being from Africa (South Africa) I felt everything.The rage, the frustration, the despondency, the elation, the freedom. There is a reason why I am still in Africa - not just because of the animals, and the freedom, and the sunsets, and the simplicity as those are not always so [...]
