    1. There are time when you want an Author to write faster, and this was one of those books. I read The Golden Acorn and really enjoyed it and wanted the next books asap! This is the second book in the Jack Brenin series. Its is a lovely read, flowing well throughout. This is an excellent quick read for adults or a brilliant introduction to fantasy books for those younger. It is not at all complicated - you don't have to learn a new language in books such at the Lord of the Rings. I have the Ebooks [...]

    2. Eh. I liked The Golden Acorn a little bit better. In Glasruhen Gate, Jack learns more about his powers and visits Annwn. Moreso than the first book, Jack relies on the adults to tell him what to do and how to solve his problems. I got a little tired of Nora telling Jack to just tell the truth or that she'll take care of things. This book is really for fairly young or immature chapter book readers.

    3. This is a verbal review from both a third and sixth grader who completed the book - as a disclaimer, I did not but then again a middle-aged gray-haired guy is not the target audience! This is the sequel to The Golden Acorn, which should be read first. Bottom line summary is they both the 3rd and 6th grader loved this book, and they were both quite insistent on purchasing the Kindle-format sequel to the Golden Acorn. When asked what they liked the most, the third grader said he liked the character [...]

    4. I thought this was a lovely quick read, the story line is kept very basic and characters are continuously asking questions in order to keep a child reader informed and to enable them to understand the plot, this is something i was very aware of in both of the books so far. I do have to say though, how much i enjoy the characters which have been created, a great sign of imagination and a whole new world has been invented for this particular story too which must be quite a difficult thing to pull [...]

    5. A very quick and easy read with an interesting story involving another world including some moral elements about people doing their best for others and the benefits of being honest. When Jack Brenin found out that, beyond doubt, he was 'The One' written about in ancient prophecy, his whole life changed. Now, armed with the golden acorn, his wand and newly acquired skills, Jack must fulfil his promise to ensure that Glasruhen Gate is opened before it's too late. His new friends are depending on hi [...]

    6. I had mixed feeling about the first book, The Golden Acorn but ultimately decided to give it 3 stars. I hoped the second book in the series would be more fast-paced and tightly plotted. As an adventure story for young readers you'd expect a lot of brisk action, right? Well, the book has its moments, but it plods along with too many characters and side stories as well as too much talk and not enough action. I still think there's a lot of potential in this series, it's just not there yet. The worl [...]

    7. Really looked forward to this, but was sorely disappointed. The storyline seems to be a collage of "generally thought to be well-working" ideas no red thread discernible for me. Inconsistencies, major ones - Gwillam died in the first book. For real. Yet in the second one he is alive and well. Plus he tells a story about ravens and the theft of the cauldron which simply does not fit into this timeline. All in all, a lot happens in the book, but everything miraculously turns out well for the hero [...]

    8. This volume was one of favourites. Jack finds he has an enemy he must fight. Camelin is expressed more in this one and Timmery helps ut n this one as welll. But in the court case we see how much Nora cares for Jack and Camelin when she pleads with Velinder. I really loved this volume because there was a lot more adventures and twists and turns.

    9. I really enjoyed the second installment of this series (The Golden Acorn), but it did feel like the longest denouement ever! This one has less of a cliffhanger ending than the first; however, it does leave some plot lines open for a third book.

    10. This follow up to The Golden Acorn explores the world of Annwn - the magical homeland. As a chapter book for young readers it is well done but lacks any fast paced action and the characters are not real developed. Like its predecessor, the interesting setting and concept makes it an enjoyable, if simple, read.

    11. Excellent Story for all Fantasy Genre readers! Also a very good reader for kids ages 9 and up! It's written in words for kids but I enjoyed it immensely. I burned through all 3 books in this series in 2 days! It's unique story line, lovable characters, and comedic lines make this a great read for all!

    12. Os personagens, assim como a própria história, amadureceram neste segundo volume e, aliado ao suspense presente até a última página, compõem um romance que marcará gerações. Próximo volume: A Montanha Prateada

    13. A fantastic continuation of THE GOLDEN ACORN. I love the fact that the author doesn't use half the book telling us what happened in the first book! Very entertaining! This is a very fast read full of smiles!

    14. This was a great fantasy book for middle schoolers to young adults. Similar to Harry Potter but with the focus on Scottish myths and tales about a boy who is trying to save the secret kingdom of Dryads.

    15. Good readGreat book for a quick adventurehope you give it a try and enjoy it as much as I did blessings

    16. Much the same feelings about this book as the first in the series, The Golden Acorn. An enjoyable simple read, most likely to appeal to young readers.

    17. There were a handful of distracting comma errors, which is always really disappointing. Great story, though!

    18. Sequel to the Golden Acorn. I enjoyed this one as much as the previous one, and hope to see more from this author. Suitable for all ages and might appeal to young Harry Potter fans.

    19. Loved this book, fantastic series to read. I get excited just as much as my boys when I read this at bedtime to them. Catherine cooper is an awesome author

    20. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first in the series. It was a quick, easy read and the characters are a lot of fun.

    21. This is the book 2 of The Adventure of Jack Brenin and still enjoyable, even more Buku ini akan segera terbit edisi Bahasa Indonesianya. :)

    22. A wonderful sequel to the Golden Acorn. The characters grew and the story progressed. I really enjoy these books and am looking forward to the next one.
