    1. I love coming across an amazing author like Melinda McRae whose works turned out to be a hidden gem in itself. As a young sheltered seventeen year old and daughter of a powerful Duke, Elizabeth was seduce and ruined by a fortune hunter. When the duke washed his hands of her, Elizabeth has made a living in the country isolated from her father and family for many years until on a snowy day Somerset Graham, the Earl of Wentworth shows up at her doorstep needing help. Somers is entrance by Elizabeth [...]

    2. Very enjoyable read. Although it started pretty predictable, the plot had enough twists and turns to make the story unique. Somerset Graham, the Earl of Wentworth was traveling through a snowstorm to visit his friend when his curricule broke down and he was forced to seek shelter in the nearby cottage. The occupant of the cottage "Miss Elizabeth" appeared to be full of contradictions. Her refine speech, impeccable manners, expensive furnishings and dresses pointed to an aristocratic class. But s [...]

    3. Wow! Such mastery of writing! We meet Elizabeth and Somers both hiding their inner selves. During the course of the story, each is peeled back layer by layer, revealing themselves to the reader and each other. There is no sudden unexplained jolt of "love", but more a growing and caring feeling of friendship that morphs into love.

    4. Melinda McRae tells a good story. There was never a moment when I wanted to skip over some of it. As soon as you are lulled with the flow of it, she puts in a new twist or turn. Somers' and Elizabeth's story will keep you guessing about what will happen next. Even the epilogue will puzzle you until she let's you in on the 'rest of the story'!
