    1. Seven from Haven by Daniel Grotta is a Pixel Hall Press publication. This book is a collection of seven ghost stories centered around the town of Haven. This book was originally released in October of 2012. This is a great book to pull out for Halloween. Of all the paranormal offerings this time of year, I love ghost stories the best. I tire easily of the slashers and we are saturated with vampires, zombies, and werewolves. These a good old fashioned ghost stories. Some are on the sweeter side, [...]

    2. Seven From Haven is a wonderful collection of “gentle” ghost stories, based on the premise that Haven, Pennsylvania is “a village that takes care of its own”. Haven, the fictional setting for these stories, is a delightful village. People, generally, care for each other. They help each other; they group together to ensure the safety of their village and its inhabitants. According to these stories, it isn’t only the living who share this ethos! In each of the seven stories, Daniel Grotta [...]

    3. When I first learned about Seven From Haven, the timing was absolutely perfect. Even though Halloween is at the end of October, this is the month where my mind just gravitates toward the paranormal, the gory, the spooky, the down-right scary! This book was exactly the book I wanted to read -- plus, you all know how much I adore short stories :)But Grotta's book actually took me by surprise. These short stories are not what you would you call your typical tell-in-the-dark-with-a-flashlight storie [...]

    4. If you enjoy reading short stories, especially ones with ghosts in them, than you will love this book. It was a refreshing contrast to the ones that are spooky and haunted. This collection of seven engaging stories, centered around the town Haven, leaves you feeling entertained and wanting more. It was an easy read with stories that will be remembered once you finish. Even though each story is centered around ghosts, this is one of those books that can be read and enjoyed at any time. I think if [...]

    5. I received this book for free as a First Read. It is a collection of short stories with a light paranormal theme set in and around Haven, Pennsylvania. I really enjoyed the book, and the short story format made it easy to read. The book was well written with engaging characters and stories. After a short story or two you can guess where the stories are headed. That doesn't detract from the book as each story is different and all are a fun little brush with the Twilight Zone. I would definitely [...]

    6. Those of you addicted to adrenaline and sex mixed with the paranormal might want to skip this book. True, it has tales of mindless grief, a gruesome motorcycle accident, a man pressed into bloody, desperate emergency surgery, senseless violence and echoes of the Holocaust, but these things are mostly transformed into wisdom. If the writers of Murder, She Wrote did a paranormal series, it would resemble this charming book about a rural hamlet in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. We meet, in se [...]

    7. This is a very well written collection that is really easy to get into. Grotta has such a straightforward yet approachable writing style that draws you in while keeping you on your toes. He paints some brilliant pictures and tells some amazing tales while providing his readers with a few laughs. Each story is told as a separate entity, yet they all blend together into a unique collection. This short trip into the paranormal definitely packs a punch. You get to know the characters of these variou [...]

    8. Seven From Haven is a collection of short stories centered around the town of Haven, Pennsylvania. Haven is not your normal town. Strange things happen there that cannot really be explained. The stories in Seven From Haven are all separate from each other. The only thing in common is the town of Haven. It was perfect timing reading this in October because all seven stories are ghost stories. With a collection like this there is always a risk that there will be some weaker stories in the mix, and [...]

    9. Okay, it's another book by my husband, Daniel Grotta. But I really do believe I would have loved it, regardless of who wrote it. These gentle stories remind me not only of O'Henry, but also the best of the old Twilight Zone TV show.

    10. I won this book (free) through ! It was nice to read a bunch of ghost stories that were less about the scares and more about helping the characters through troubling times. I'm sure everybody at some time needed a helping handbut would they mind it from the other side?
