    1. Originally reviewed at Bookwraiths.Like most of my book discoveries as a teenager, this one began as I lurked among the shelves at my local bookstore. Back then, I was always slinking through the shadows of the science fiction/fantasy aisle, endlessly scrounging through the books, hoping to uncover something that I had not seen before. Some times I was successful; other times I was not. On this particular day though, I stumbled upon a novel with what I considered a ridiculous cover. Instantly, I [...]

    2. 4.5 to 5.0 stars. Wow!! Another fantastic book that no one has ever heard of. Great, action-filled fantasy tale. Highly recommended!!

    3. Wow this was dense. The author does some cool things re imagining the relationships between magical creatures and the dwarves are particularly fun and unusually awesome. Looking forward to book 2!

    4. This book is, hands down, the best book of its kind I have ever read. Not Tolkien, Salvatore, nor Cook has equaled the intensity or the range of emotions this book evoked in me.

This book ain't for the faint of heart, and I read it years ago but recently discovered it in my storage unit. It still suc [...]

    6. Woof. I saw what great reviews this had on here & and decided to check this out as part of my '80s fantasy reading extravaganza (!!). I think I see the appeal, and probably would have loved it at like 12 (goblins RAPING CHICKS TO DEATH, dwarves who are just filthy disgusting, et. al), but MAN does it creak like old, unkempt armor now. Pass.
