It's rare for an author to capture so thoroughly both the swift and powerful economy required of a short story , and the more sweeping heavy lifting that a novel demands--Steven Schwartz does both. Therapy is, at its heart, a character-driven story (though there's plenty of plot to chew on here, too) that follows Cap Kaplan as he interacts with his family, his new son, and his clients, and all with varying levels of success.     2. Not bad. A good book that gets inside the head of therapists. Terrible ending, however. It's like he just decided he was done and threw an ending down without a lot of thought.

    3. A novel. Couldn't put it down. Cop and wife, Wallis and baby Claude. Psychiatrist has a patient Julian who kills himself so he quits his job. Hard to tell what the "moral" is.
