    1. I wish I hadn't read this book. But it was a very short novella and I had just DNFed another impulse buy.I also wish people would realise that having a dream of becoming an author doesn't imply you know how to write a good story. Keep dreaming, it's absolutely right. One day you may even be a successful one. And I'll be happy for you. But please don't make me pay for your dreams. However cheap at 3$ it's still a lot of money for a wish-fulfilment short story of a Mary Sue. Do not write about wha [...]

    2. I read this book as part of the Fated Mates: The Alpha Shifter Boxed Set of which I received an ARC via NetGalley.I liked the unusual ability that Ginger had and the fact that she stood up to the Alpha- the punishment she recieved could have been better i think. I would have liked there to have been more chemistry between Ginger and Loch- as they are supposed to be true mates, to me there didn't seem to be that much of a connection between them. I thought the BDSM element, although quite small, [...]

    3. Actually a pretty good first in series werewolf tale. Not great, not fantastic, but pretty good.I didn't like the Dom/Sub BDSM stuff, cause it just took me right out of the story. It seemed to be added just for the "50 shades" factor. It had no relevance and wasn't done particularly well. GSC could of left in the spanking without the club scene IMO.The mystery was well done even if it was obvious who the bad guy was. And all the relatives trying to marry off Ginger was funny. I think Ginger need [...]

    4. Ginger Colby, a half breed red wolf, has just broken up with her long time boyfriend and is spending some much needed vacation time with her friend Marigold in Florida which just happens to be in Loch Armstrong's territory of feared gray wolves. When Loch, the sexy alpha of the pack, struts up to her at the local bar and tells her to dance with him she has no reservations in publicly shutting him down and walking out. Little does she realize she's just declared war between the packs by shaming a [...]

    5. Entertaining and humorous shifter romance. This is a cute little shifter read which ticks all the boxes, hot domineering alpha, curvy female, humour, hot sexy scenes and of course a nasty female who wants him for herself.Ginger is down from New York putting 'as much physical distance as I can financially afford, between myself and that cheating, lying, useless pig of an ex-boyfriend of mine. Not that I'm bitter.'And while the Sheriff is the hottest thing she's ever seen, he's got muscles on top o [...]

    6. Ginger I liked her, "I came here to put as much physical distance as I could financially afford, between myself and that cheating, lying, useless pig of an ex-boyfriend of mine. Not that I'm bitter." I would have never thought that Ginger I really wouldn't have. Ginger's friend Marigold that damn girl is somethin' else, "I've got extra condoms if you need them," Marigold added, following her down the hallway. "Do you want to tuck a few in your purse? How about a six pack? He looks like he's good [...]

    7. Between 3-3.5 stars:Whyyyy?! Why did you (to the author) write such a book?! If you had put some more I don't know "humiliation scenes'' between the alpha and her mate in front of the public and maybe some more you are my fated mate thingy and her rejecting the idea even if she liked it or more mystery on the search for the professor or the murder and more of the near non existant steamy scenes this book would have been one of my favorites but no you had to cut throught all of that and put this [...]

    8. 3.5 starsThis was good. Had some ups and downs but the story was there. I like how she friend him down at first. Made me laugh. Although this wasn't the best book I've read I did enjoy it. I liked the developments from all sides. I'm not sure why this was getting so many bad ratings. It's a cool shifter story with some unexpected turns.

    9. DNF @60%I wanted to see it through but it just wasn't for me. I was hoping for a more inventive way for the H to introduce the h to spanking rather than just taking her to a sex club. Just a bit mmmehhh for me. I've read to many stories recently with the same story line.

    10. I enjoyed Georgette St. Clair's other short novella, I Married A Warlock, so it was with simple happiness that I picked up the first novella in her Alpha series. The Alpha Claims A Mate was another short, fun, naughty read that was real, quirky, and entertaining. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be picking up Ms. St. Clair's other supernatural romances!Ginger just wanted a vacation away from her normal life, so she and her best friend, Marigold, went out to the country to have a little rest and rela [...]

    11. This is probably the last time I've ever let recommending a book to me but I'm not seeing how that's possible since is . I never understood why this novel was classified under BDSM erotica when there's barely even sex in this book and the drama and wealth of non-important characters it have outweight any redeemable feature this book ever had. This book is about Ginger, an out-of-town half-breed werewolf girl with her working friends and she went out to a bar where she saw a man-whore rubbing ov [...]

    12. This is a story with characters you quickly identify with and whose future matters to the reader. The author, Georgette St. Claire uses everyday situations and a lot of humor in her writing. The heroine of the story, is a big girl, she is honest with herself about her size, laughs about it and is even sensitive about others reactions to her body without affecting the flow of the story.I hear readers' complaint that the words BBW in any book title means a main character with low self-esteem and co [...]

    13. There is much about this romance to like. I like the BBW half wolf/half witch shifter a great deal. The hero is your typical man whoreAlpha but he comes around and magically quits all bad behavior like they do. I love the secondary cast of her BFFS. They actually have their own romances which are super fun. I do so wish they would get their own parallel in time romance so we could enjoy all the details. There is a nerdy savant human I adore and would be happy to buy her book.  I think the next [...]

    14. The PremiseBBW Ginger Colby, (half witch, half werewolf) is on vacation in Blue Moon County, when she insults the local Alpha (who is also the sheriff) by refusing to dance with him at local honky tonk. She’s then forced by her Alpha to work for the Sheriff as his assistant for two weeks as a way to make amends. There is a secondary plotline of a professor’s disappearanceThe GoodHere, Ginger is pretty accepting of herself, which is refreshing. She’s funny and strong enough to stand up agai [...]

    15. This is a new author for me. I was not sure what to expect going in, but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it. It was fun and sexy.Ginger Colby is half red wolf, half witch. While on vacation in Florida, she insults the sexy alpha of the local grey wolf pack. Not realizing the major political ramifications of what she has done, Ginger thinks nothing of the incident. Until the next morning when her alpha calls and wants her to fix the situation, now. So Ginger agrees to her punishment to make a [...]

    16. As another shifter novella from the Fated Mates box set I was up in the air about this one. I mean it was better than some of the ones I've read previously but.Loch is an gray wolf alpha used to getting the attention. Ginger is a red wolf huge feels she's overweight and takes offense to Loch demanding a dance. This sparks a lot of commotion because no one turns down the Alpha. It was okay but I felt the whole deal with the Panthers was just so weird. I mean it was a great twist but Tallula and B [...]

    17. I was instantly nabbed by this novella because of the writing style, yet along the way there were things that just didn't fit. More then half way through you learn she's half witch when I clearly thought she was half human. That may just be my fault. Do all these creatures just mingle willingly? There wasn't enough paranormal activity going on. The BDSM scenes could have been kept out and it would have made no difference to the book. Clearly this is someone who hasn't experienced this and it sho [...]

    18. He was a Hot, Sexy Alpha of the Blue Moon Shifter pack and every women at the Hoot Owl Hoedownwanted to dance with him. When he walked over and asked Ginger to dance she said "No!' and it seemed the world stopped, everything in the club did. No one had ever said no to Sheriff Loch Armstrong. From then on it was a hilarious and exciting and sweet and dangerous read. I loved it! Ginger and her friend Marigold were just so funny. I laughed so much. I just enjoyed this book.

    19. Good story. This was a well written, fun, enjoyable book. I am very glad I purchased and read/listened to the book. This is the first thing I have read by this author. I will continue to purchase and listen to her work. They are quick little esacapes from the busy world. I one clicked this series because of the audio option. The narrator really brings the characters to life

    20. Ugh! I felt like the entire focus of the book was how the main character was "a size 16" and "self conscious" about her looks, etc etc. I don't have an issue with her body type at all but I have an issue with the way it was portrayed and the way she viewed herself. Don't recommend

    21. This was good. Had some ups and downs but the story was there. I like how she friend him down at first. Made me laugh. Although this wasn't the best book I've read I did enjoy it. I liked the developments from all sides. I'm not sure why this was getting so many bad ratings.

    22. I liked it. It was funny to see the heroine keeping the hero on his toes. Just didn't like the public spanking coz not a fan of exhibitionism but overall, this was a good start to a series

    23. I enjoyed this story. It was a bit different on the alpha finding a mate story, and it was fun watching the alpha work for his woman. A cute read.

    24. I received this story (audiobook version) for free for an honest review. This is the first audio book I’ve ever…read…listened to? For this one, there was a single lady doing all the voices. (I think that’s the main downside to audio books, at least when it’s this type of book/genre. My husband listens to audio books, his ‘stories’ are more documentary related type texts though. So the single voice is fine for those kind of audio books. Now I know one of the benefits (there are many) [...]

I do know I felt like I got value for money with this book. We meet Ginger when she is out on a girls night with her best friend at a honky-tonk bar in a small country town. Loch, the towns sheriff and alpha of the local Gray Wolf werewolf pack is there flirting with anything moving. When he saunters over to ask Ginger to dance she is less than impres [...]

    26. Reviewed by Whitney@Shooting Stars ReviewsThe story begins when Ginger goes out of town to get away from her home for awhile. While there she sees the local Alpha at the bar going from one woman to the next, constantly flirting and being arrogant. So when he comes up to her and DEMANDS her to dance with him She tells him no in a not so nice fashion and walks out But the next day she realizes what a horrible mistake she made when her Alpha forces her to work for the local Alpha to keep them from [...]

    27. OK So the important thing to note is that this universe is fucked up.The "public insult" Ginger gives the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack? She said no to a dance. Not rudely, unless it's Regency England because she said no and didn't lie and say she had a headache or something stupid. OVER NIGHT This is put in the local papers gossip column and blown up to the point that less than 24 hours later her alpha (back in New York) has hashed out a conciliation deal where Ginger has to work for Loch for two [...]
