    1. This episode really ramps things up a notch, and the last lines are sigh worthy. I love this pairing.I have been in heaven, working through the The Kraken King serials, and I have to say though that even with the week between parts, I wouldn't want to wait for the all in one volume instead - some of my favorite authors have been training me to like serials so I am in the right frame of mind for The Kraken King. The wait isn't as hard as I thought it would be, and it is always exciting to get a n [...]

    2. Wow, I am not sure what I can write about this part, the whole thing is a spoiler other than to say the romance takes a giant step forward. I will say I don't really remember that many romantic scenes, they just don’t affect me that way (hey I am a guy) BUT I do remember two, the end of the first Guild Hunter novel by Nalini Singh and The Scribe by Elizabeth Hunter and now I have one more, the end of Part 4 is one of the best I ever read. The whole book is worth the price just to read the end [...]

    3. The time has finally come for Zenobia to reveal her secrets. Which aren't exactly what Ariq was expectingStill, complicated though the situation may be, our two lovebirds seem to at last be trusting one another, and nothing can stop their love. Except their abduction.Amazing as ever! And featuring the most romantic and epic love declaration, that has me fangirling like a twelve year old:(view spoiler)[“You are my queen,” he told her, and clasped her hand to his overfilled heart. Though emoti [...]

    4. My review copy included Parts I-IV, as well as an excerpt from Heart of SteelEach part begins with a letter to Zenobia's brother Archimedes in which she tells him where she is and gives him a little heads up on what has been happening. I love these letters because they set the tone of the series so well. I'm really enjoying The Kraken King and I think that this part may be my favorite so far. In this part, Ariq and Zenobia are getting nice and comfortable and acquainted in the Red City. I love w [...]

    5. Without a doubt my favorite part so far. And that is saying a lot since I have been captivated from the very first page of this serial. As with the previous Iron Seas novels, the world building is sublime and vivid, but it is the characters of Zenobia and Ariq that I’m completely and hopelessly in love with. Their characterization is just superbly written. In fact I am still swooning over one of the most deeply romantic passages that I have read in a very long time.

    6. Puts hand on forehead and falls back in a swoon. This installment was swoon worthy. Seriously, I swooned. Will our dashing hero rescue our brilliant heroine? Will they get a chance to kick some ass? I just can't wait to see. Come on next Tuesday!

    7. 4.5 StarsAfter the last serial I was kinda iffy, annoyed and definitely divided. Don't misunderstand me, I did pre-order this one, I was left wanting more, but also wondered if I can take any more of the on and off in the romance. I needed some sort of solution.Which admittedly is a bit silly, since I don't need to read the end to know where the romance is going.I guess that speaks for Brooks character building. It's as always pretty good. It's subtle yet solid. And more importantly it leaves me [...]

    8. My Rating: A-, Enjoyed A LotOriginally Posted at That's What I'm Talking AboutReview copy provided by publisherNOTE: This review contains spoilers from the earlier parts of the book! This week’s part opens with Zenobia and Helene traveling to the Red City under the protection of Ariq. During the episode, Ariq and Zenobia spend some quality time together, finally getting to know each other. The couple flirts and talks in innuendos which is so sexy and fun. Once again, I am enamored with Zenobia [...]

    9. A combined review for Parts III & IV:With these two new additions to the THE KRAKEN KING serial adventure, Zenobia and Ariq are established, compelling, and off on their adventure. Moving from the comfort of Ariq’s encampment to the wider world, we get to see both Ariq’s political savvy and the price of Zenobia’s fame in action. Zenobia and Ariq have an undeniable chemistry, but loyalties to respective loved ones mean their keeping all of that heat under wraps for much of this journey [...]

    10. review posted on Got Fiction? booksWith the villain on the cover, and the description in the title, you know you’re in for a ride with this installment! They are finally in the Red City and we the reader are preparing for Zenobia’s defenses to come crumbling down, but oh we don’t know how this will go, do we? And it’s never easy. ARRRGGGHHH!!! I have to get the next installment asap because Good God this woman can write! The last paragraph of Part IV, Lips parting, she stared up at him, wit [...]

    11. 6/10: Good light-weight read, well done.Way too short. Ridiculously too short. Would have scored 3.5 stars for Ariq's speech alone. But the length just makes me ask, Why?I am your sword and your shield. I am your wolf and your steed. Mountains will tremble at my approach, for they know I will tear them apart if ever they stand between us. But you need not be afraid, Zenobia Fox, because my heart is iron and my will is steel, and before the new moon rises, I will come for you.

    12. Did I mention I LOVE those letters Zenobia writes to Archimedes? They're so witty and funny and snarky- the sum total of her long-distance relationship with her brother is contained within them. The slow burn of attraction has long been transformed into a spark; and Ariq's not fighting it. Not to mention his out-of-nowhere grand declaration of love that had me jumping in my seat(view spoiler)[“You are my queen,” he told her, and clasped her hand to his overfilled heart.(hide spoiler)]

    13. on the way to the Red City, Ariq spends all time he can with Zenobia telling her he would have her secrets - the night they arrive in Red City - and she would tell him before or after they make love she spends the time lost in daydreams and fantasies about him - about touching him - appreciating and turned on for how he looksd he becomes all the more determined to break down her walls, to gain her trust, and gain her heart they make it into the Red City - he comes to her she shares what secrets [...]

    14. Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Vivacious Valkyrie - Marta:*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest reviewWell this is the fourth instalment of The Kraken King and I think the title says it all! Zenobia Fox may be close to realising the end of her mission -which is getting her friend safely to Red City but her life is never uneventful. Having survived a failed kidnapping attempt thanks to Ariq ,Zenobia is well aware that her true identity has been revealed. Ariq has offered her his protection b [...]

    15. At long last, Zenobia’s identity has been revealed to Ariq. He finally begins to grasp who she is and what risks she faces, especially as the sister of ArchimedesTheir love can now develop within the walls of the Red City – but just as her loving brother makes Zenobia a target, how much more so will being the lover of the Kraken King?By now in this little episodic adventure the romance between the two is definitely going to heat up – which means we’re getting some romance tropes edging i [...]

    16. Review of installments IV-VIIIAriq has discovered who Zenobia is, but he still needs to uncover all her secrets, as well as win her heart, as she has surely managed to steal his. But he has a plan, her walls will fall under his sensual assault and she will learn to trust him and tell him all her secrets. But, as well as the battle to win Zenobia's heart, Ariq must also discover who is threatening Kraken town and stop their plot before a new war begins. I confess I waited till all parts of this s [...]

    17. So, so good. Review originally posted at fictionvixen/review-krakenOh, wow. This serial is blowing my mind. With each installment it just gets better and better. I am completely hooked. At the end of part three, Ariq let it be known that Zenobia was under his protection and in the process revealed that he knew more about her than she thought. Now they are finally in the Red City and he wants them to come to an understanding about their relationship. There is intense chemistry and attraction betwe [...]

    18. Review posted: Happily Ever After - ReadsBlog rating: AThe adventure continues as we get some truths that come out between Ariq and Zenobia and there’s an abduction by some very dangerous characters – it’s never a dull moment! On their way to the Red City, Ariq wants answers from Zenobia – he now knows her real name but needs to know why he’s protecting her. From what, from who, he needs this information and gives her a choice: tell him as soon as he comes to her room that night, or tel [...]

    19. Just finished, and I'm practically speechless. This segment is indescribably fantastic, and deserves more than a perfect 5 out of 5 for the rating. How does Meljean write such a fabulous and mindblowing story?!Favorite quotes:That amazing, terrible smile had widened to a grin. “My grip isn’t the only reason I’m called the Kraken.” Of course. Any man would say that. She raised both hands, palm to palm, and wiggled her fingers like tentacles. “So it’s like this?” A shout of laughter [...]

    20. Complete review available at coffeeandbookaholics.wordpress Opening part four of this series brings a rather surprising relief to the weekly anxiety of waiting for the next installment of the Kraken King.I happily opened the book and found myself somewhere over Southwestern Australia making my way to the Red City on May 27th. I’m no longer in my comfortable home, but instead I can feel the hot desert air that’s scorching my skin and I’m surprised that I will miss the smugglers den as Zenob [...]

    21. This is the fourth installment out of a total of eight installments that are releasing weekly for the Kraken King book (this is book 4 overall in the Iron Seas series). This was a very well additon to the Kraken King story, although there was less action than in previous installments and more romance.Zenobia and Ariq finally make it to the Red City. Ariq has declared Zenobia to be under his protection, but in return he wants to learn her secrets. While Zenobia struggles with the decision of whet [...]

    22. I'm assuming that if you're reading this, you've read the first 3 parts (but not necessarily this part, so no spoilers for that here). And we finally get to the Red City! Zenobia and Ariq have been circling each other in the last few parts, each keeping their own secrets and suspecting each other's motivations, but they finally started moving towards each other in unison in Part 3. That continues here, and they finally have a conversation where cards start going on the table. And then comes the [...]

    23. After another close call, Zenobia is again saved by Ariq and is now officially under the protection of the Kraken King. Making their way into The Red City, Ariq and Zenobia finally come clean (about most things) to each other but when things finally appear to be looking up, someone comes looking for Ariq and is prepared to use Zenobia to get what he want.Avoidance is no longer the name of the game. Ariq and Zenobia, with a needed push, come clean to each other. Zenobia is hurt that she has been [...]

    24. Please note this review is for part four of a serial and contains slight spoilers for previous installments.Zenobia and her friend Helene have finally reached the Red City where Helene's husband is the French ambassador. After being nearly abducted and subsequently rescued by Ariq in the smugglers' dens Zenobia breathes a sigh of relief - only the has another problem: Ariq is determined to know her secrets. Already he knows her true identity, and although Zenobia wants to trust him she cannot be [...]

    25. Posted originally at smexybooks/2014/05/review-MY REVIEW AT SMEXYBOOKS CONTAINS REVIEWS FOR PARTS 4-6 in ONE POST. Part Four-The Kraken King and the Inevitable AbductionZenobia is on pins and needles as she and Ariq get closer to the Red City. She knows she will have to spill her secrets and she dreads what’s in store for once Ariq knows the whole truth. Forgiving him for his faux pas back in Krakentown, Zenobia still harbors doubt that she is not enough for him and that once he meets the real [...]

    26. Holy crumb. Ariq and Zenobia just can't catch a break. Just when you think they're going to be able to break down those walls and finally get together, something happens. But that something leads to something unexpected, so yeah.I really love the look we get at how much Ariq's admires Zenobia. She's not like most women and it's those very differences that draw him to her. And the glimpses we get of her insecurities and the pain she's hiding from her past absolutely slayed me. At one point, Zenob [...]

    27. This was the best so far for me. The time came for Ariq and Zenobia to share some of their secrets. Some striking revelations are made and just when they are finally coming together, a plot twist takes us into a whole new direction. I already love both Ariq and Zenobia and here we see more of their background and learn about their past and the things which made them who they are now. His overwhelming lust for her is coupled with tenderness and deepest desire to offer understanding and protection [...]

    28. Book 4 of Iron Seas, preceded by Riveted & hopefully followed by another book???. This is a book written as a serial, made up of 8 parts: 1.The Kraken King and the Scribbling Spinster, 2. TKK and the Abominable Worm, 3. TKK and the Fox's Den, 4. TKK and the Inevitable Abduction, 5K and the Iron Heart, 6. TKK and the Crumbling Walls, 7. TKK and the Empress's Eyes, 8. TKK and the Greatest Adventure. This was a great way of telling the story, especially since Zenobia is a writer of serials abou [...]

    29. Best. Declaration(s). Ever.I so far have read only the first in this series and was skeptical, to say the least, of the serial format of this story. But I decided to give it a go and am so glad I did. The first three installments were solid, with interesting and likable characters. I was hooked after the first chapters and the story has gotten better with each episode. This was the best part yet; how could I not love a man who falls for a woman's intelligence? Fortunately, the releases come only [...]

    30. Well, the title says it all. In this installment we have the Inevitable Abduction. It is Zenobia Fox, after all. Getting abducted is largely what she's been good at since we met her in Archimedes' story. However! This time we get some delicious character development in addition to some long-awaited relationship development. (The anticipation in this book has been seriously delightful.)Another strong entry!
