    1. This was a hard book for me to give a rating to, but I decided on the 3 out of 5 stars because it was well written, the characters were realistic, and I could clearly recognize the point being made within the story. However with that being said, I didn't like any of the characters involved at all. Jemistry, is completely unlikable. I understand that she has been sorely mistreated and abused by men in the past which has caused her to become jaded and bitter. Jemistry decides that she will now pla [...]

    2. [ARC received courtesy of NetGalley]3.5-4 StarsZane's Other Side of the Pillow was an entertaining read which not only show-cased the romantic relationship between Jemistry and Tevin, but also served as a lesson in relationships. Jemistry Daniels is a successful high school principal in Chicago. But unfortunately she's also a woman scorned. She has been used and abused by a fair share of men. Coming off yet another bad relationship where she suffered both physical and emotional abuse, she's done [...]

    3. It is a really sad day when I DNF Erotica, but this was too corny even for me.The lead female protagonist spends the majority of the introduction whining about all men being dogs, and having been reduced to a shell of her former self as a result of her interaction with said losers. When she then meets a man who has the qualities that she claims to be looking ford he's a surgeon, no less. She proceeds to go for a "booty call" right before said date.Ummmmhello?Weren't you just complaining about thi [...]

    4. Received an ARC through NetGalley.Zane is a phenomenal author. I've been into her books since high school, maybe 8th grade (yes I know I was young at the time, but I was obsessed with all types of books), so reading this was something I definitely knew I wanted to do. While most of her books are all nitty gritty about sex, this book was intense and not so wrapped up in the sex scenes.Jemistry Daniels is a principal at a school and a bitter woman. She has been hurt time and time again from men in [...]

    5. This was the first Zane book that I read. I thought it was okay. The book, based on what I've heard others say about Zane's work, is right in line with her other titles.Jemistry is a high school principal who is bitter towards men following a break up from an abusive lover. She meets Tevin, a surgeon, during an open mic night where she recites a poem about how bitter she is.Readers in the DMV area will enjoy Zane's numerous references to the area. Overall, this book fell a little short for me. M [...]

    6. This book just reiterated the fact that soft men don't appeal to me. It's even worse when you see one taking crap from a woman who doesn't necessarily deserve his nice-ness.Jemistry (I dislike this name and I would mess up and think chemistry and dentistry in my head) is a woman who has been walked on, walked over, and beaten until the dust fell off. She's jaded, knows it, and can't seem to shake off the residue of past relationships gone wrong. She's now "all about the sex" and it has its perks [...]

    7. For most of the relationships Jemistry has been in, they have been abusive and she ends up hurt, physically and emotionally. After so many years of this she decides to take the rest of her life into her own hands and builds a wall around herself and stay single only have a few friends with benefits, to fill her needs. That is until she meets Tevin Harris. Will he be able to tear down the wall Jemistry has built around herself or will she repeat her past patterns of bailing on a relationship just [...]

    8. I wavered between giving this a 2 or a 3, but had to go with the lower rating. There was just too much scoffing and eye rolling happening as I was reading. And anytime I find myself editing rather than just enjoying the story is a bad sign. Don't get me wrong. Somewhere in there is a good story, it's just mired by unnecessary and mundane details that didn't develop character or plot, and so much telling rather than showing that it read like a how-to, after school special rather than a novel. Ser [...]

    9. To say I was excited when I heard Zane was writing a new book would be a huge understatement. To me, despite what popular culture will lead you to believe, she is the one and only queen of erotica. In my opinion, The Other Side of the Pillow was quite different from her previous books and I still LOVED it! "In truth, I disgusted myself because he was right. I had relinquished all my common sense and self-respect in the name of love. I used to scoff at women who stayed with men who cheated on the [...]

    10. Jemistry Daniels is the poster child for an angry black woman. Although she is independent and highly successful, she is tired of being used and abused by men so she adapts the mentality: Friends with Benefits. If a man can do it, so can a woman…right??! Wrong, we as woman at some point have to break down those walls as it is not in our DNA to act like that without feeling some type of way.Jemistry was doing well with that philosophy until she meets divorced Vascular Surgeon, Tevin Harris who [...]

    11. It was really difficult for me to enjoy this book. I am a huge Zane fan but I was a little disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the story of Tevin and Jemistry although at times throughout the book I would forget their individual professions. It was extremely hard for me to believe that Jemistry worked around high school children by the way she herself spoke. Then I remembered its Zane and her books are often very explicit. The other characters such as Winsome, Estella and Courtney in my opinion [...]

    12. A DEFINITE MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zane has done it again! This book is has something everyone can relate to. I loved that love definitely conquered all! With friends like Floyd and Winsome , Tevin and Jemistry didn't need any enemies. I really enjoy this novel and can't wait to see if Zane decides to write an "update" novel about the lives of Courtney, Floyd, Winsome , and Estella. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    13. ARC courtesy of Netgalley.A high school principal abused by past boyfriends meets a handsome doctor at a poetry reading, a man who immediately decides he wants to have a long-term romantic relationship with her. She's wary, but gives it a try. Things go slowly, but well, until the hero tells the heroine's roommate that he wants his lover to move in with him. The roommate comes up with the brilliant idea to pretend that she and he were having sex, to break up the romance. That such a move will br [...]

    14. I have only read about 4 or 5 of zane novels. They are all pretty good but this book was special. It had me telling everyone about it and I couldnt wait to get some alone time every day so that I could read, read read. This book is just awesome all the way around the board.I really appreciate Zane zoning in on a mans perspective and showing his sensitive side as well.I have to admit that when I first started reading the book it captured my attention right away and it stayed there.I didnt like how [...]

    15. Zane is one of my favorite authors and she definitely did not disappoint this book gave me just about every emotion it had romance some parts was funny it had erotica that she's known for but it was not a lot of that it was mostly one hell of a love story the book was about Jemister a woman that has been through it all mostly bad relationship physical abuse she's had cheaters people trying to turn down her self esteem she's pretty much a beautiful woman but is very bitter and have given up on lo [...]

    16. I loved this book! A lot of people were judging me by its cover (Large print edition), but I stood my ground because I was more caught up with the actual story than the erotica bitswhich were very well written mind you 😂😍😎🤓This is a story about pain, love at first sight, integrity, and most importantly, TRUTH!! Be honest in life.n't waste time with lies and misconceptionsBE REAL!

    17. It was a great book. Entertaining from the beginning to the end. Zane never disappoints me inn her novels I'm happy at the ending of this story and everything question I had was answered & it all came together. No part 2 here for sure.

    18. I really enjoyed this book. Jemistry was a handful and Tevin was a good man loved it amazing ending wish she'd do a sequel Oan I could've whooped Winsome's ass.

    19. This is a romance with the couple focus on Jemistry Daniels and Tevin Harris. Based in Washington D.C.My thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing this temporary ARC for me to read. Yeah, temporary, as in they're canceling my access to it as soon as it's published. Talk about a cheap shot. Won't be reviewing any more Zane books with this attitude. And, yes, it's cast a pall on how I'm looking at this story, so take this with a grain of salt.My TakeWe view this from two different points-o [...]

    20. This was a book recommended by a friend and one that I partially enjoyed. I have enjoyed books from Zane in the past. Her stories are steamy and always full of fun sexual escapades. Honestly, I read her books and those by EJD and Webber to learn how fit into that ideal male model for the woman of my life. Men, I recommend you do the same. We can possibly reach the perfection goals listed in many of these books but we can still learn a few tricks. I always wonder why men aren’t studying these b [...]

    21. Good men and true love still exist. Glad that Jemistry let her guard down because she was bitter. The love that Tevin had her is what every woman want. What Winsome did I could never be friends with her again and Floyd got everything he deserved for what he was doing to his wife to me he was selfish and cold hearted. Love does conquer all

    22. Great Read Really a Great Read.I Love Zane's work she is great writer and everything she writes has a message that just about every woman can relate too. Zane keep your doing your thang and Im going to keep purchasing everything you write, because Im a loyal Zane Fan. People if haven't read anything Zane you are slipping start at the beginning cause all her work is great.

    23. Due to downloading difficulties, I was not able to read this book. **Was given an ARC by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**

    24. Ended to SoonVery nice ending. Not the normal drama as expected from the author but in a good way. I was waiting on a disaster to occur. Very short read

    25. Y’all I just started this book and I can’t put it down! The erotica scenes in this book and the drama of it all is just absolutely genius!
