    1. There is simply no getting around the fact that this borrows heavily from "Hostel," but hey, nothing new under the sun and all that jazz, right? What this book does much better than "Hostel" is get right down to the bloody business. No foreplay, no mucking about--we came here for literary torture-porn and that's what author Tim Miller gives us without teasing around the proverbial bush.Miller's stripped-down, no-frills, matter-of-fact style is put to good use here as he details the strap-'em-dow [...]

    2. I enjoyed reading this; almost like a novella. Not for you if you don't take over the top gore well. After reading the reviews I think I will try another Tim Miller book

    3. And a new record was set!“This place is where people like me get to fulfill their every dream, fantasy and desire. This is also a place where people like you will learn a new definition of pain and suffering like you never knew existed.”With The Country Club, Tim Miller broke his record with how far into the book he made me sick, TWO PERCENT!! New record! And that's a compliment, lol! The Country Club is like The Hostile, which if you liked that movie, you'll love the book. It has it's own g [...]

    4. I prefer psychological horror over gore for gore's sake, which should be a last resort. That being said, I have no problem with gore, especially when it's over-the-top as in this book. The problems I had are that the indents aren't in the same place and there are too many grammar & syntax errors that should've been edited out, which give it an amateur feel. But the story and extreme horror were both pro, so success! In the credits I read that no author goes as far as Tim does. I don't really [...]

    5. Very goodIf you liked Hostel, you're in for a treat. I wasn't sure if I would like this book but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it.

    6. This is not just a horror story, this is all-out gore at it's most extreme. If you are even slightly squeamish, I suggest you sit this one out rather than leave unfair reviews complaining that this book was far too sick for your liking.Tim Miller is fast becoming one of my favourite writers. I was impressed with Hell, Texas and have proceeded to download every other title onto my Kindle. I am currently spoilt for choice. This particular story didn't let me down. It's true to say that there are a [...]

    7. Gruesome!!Wow, I was into this from the beginning. At first I began to compare it to the Hostel movies as there are some similarities. But this book can stand alone and apart. I found it even more terrifying. Crystal is a blogger who wants to uncover the Country Club. A supposedly private club for the rich and elite to live out their fantasies of killing and torture. She confines some friends to go with her when she gets a tip on where the club is located. What will happen then? Well you have to [...]

    8. Unoriginal but very well executedI love a good torture gore-fest from time to time so this short read was up my alley. If one takes the GIVEN away--the obvious sense of deja vu' of having read this kind of novel or seen this type of film before--this is crafted meticulously and there is little wasted/superfluous sections or even sentences. I liked the waynthe author described both the larger and smaller details and his semse of the human anatomy appears to be quite sound! Lol. Anyway, I enjoyed [...]

    9. Tim Miller may quickly be becoming my new favorite author. I've now read this, in addition to Family Night, and Night of Vengeance. He continues to write dark horror. I really enjoy the dark imagination and twisted characters with graphic violence.I do feel that the way in which some characters came into the story was more of a stretch than in his other works. but I am thoroughly entertained and look forward to what his next work will be about. I like where he has been going with his recent bout [...]

    10. am not going to rate this book since I haven't finished itI just couldn't! This is not my normal genre and even reading some of the reviews before I even started it I thought: well, how terrible can it really be? It's just a story! But no! There are some truly unspeakable things being done to women and they are described so well and lively that I just couldn't take any more.I am just not the audience the author is going for.

    11. For the horror fans out there who love a gruesome good ol' bloodbath of a read this is for you! There were even moments where my stomach churned in reaction! This author really knows his horror and the story is an easy one to follow and enjoy if you truly love horror. I'm so glad I found this author and am reading more by him for sure!

    12. I love Tim Miller's sick mind!I was in a serious book slumpbut not anymore. Leave it to Tim Miller to drag me, kicking and screaming, back to my love of reading. Excellent storyline, I so hope there's a sequel.

    13. Tim Miller has definitely topped my list of horror authors after reading 2 of his novels. Your so sick and twistedI LOVE IT!!!!!!

    14. Pretty Damn goodI really liked this book. I only wish that it was a little longer and didn't sum things up in just a few pages

    15. Plot moved too fast without focus on characters. Too short. Could have developed the scene, backstory, and main characters a bit more.

    16. The Country Club is an old place, though no one knows quite how old. It houses the rich, the powerful, the political, and also greater secrets than anyone would imagine. It's here at the Country Club that for a price, you can do what you want to anyone you want, and walk away with your most primal instincts fulfilled.Torture, rape, death, anything, and I mean anything goes. The Country Club is so secretive, that nobody is even sure that it really exists, almost like an urban legend. One person, C [...]

    17. An interesting variation on the movie, Hostel. I enjoyed reading this, however, there were some problems. In the beginning, the receptionist at the club expresses surprise that Denny has brought a friend, but then says we have prepared the two rooms and two girls just as you specified---this seems contradictory. I cannot imagine Denny not making sure his friend would be cool with everything. The explanation that they did some insensitive things together and so Denny figured it would be okay with [...]

    18. When i started to read this book the first thing that popped into my head was the movie Hostel I was wrong, this is so much better. I really didn't want to put this book down and could have quite easily gone awol from work. However this would prevent me from earning money to buy more books from this author. Found another awesome horror writer.

    19. I had gotten the audiobook of this book and I must say, the only complaint I have about this book is that it was certainly predictable at times (not a bad thing, in my opinion) and that it should have been just a bit longer. Other than that, I LOVED this book.

    20. Another CRAZY GOOD read from Tim Miller!!!I was not disappointed with this book. With nods to the movie - Hostel - The Country Club takes it's readers on a wild and crazy ride through the super secret world of the extremely rich and the poor unfortunate "cattle" that happen to meet there doom at the exclusive club. This book is definitely not lacking in story or gore!!! Tim Miller tells a story that reads like a movie and leaves his readers needing more when they reach the last page. I cannot wa [...]

    21. Junior Laymon KillsI love Tim Miller. His books always deliver exactly what I'm looking for, including plenty of moments where I have to shake my head in amazement. He really does remind me of a cruder Richard Laymon, but in a good way. His books never get dull or monotonous. This is the third book by him that I've read ( the other two being the Hell, Texas books) and it was excellent. Yes, there are similarities to Hostel, but the idea works well in book form.I took a star off because it didn't [...]

    22. If you read an extreme horror book you are expecting to be shocked. You are expecting the author to take you on a journey where in your minds eye you see things that make you uncomfortable. I have read a number of extreme horrors now and Tim continues to deliver the most shocking and disturbing imagery that i have ever read. There is a scene in this story where you think "is he really going to go there?" yes he is and yes he does. If you want a shocking read wrapped around Tim's as always great [...]

    23. This story kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn't know what was going to happen on page to the next, was cheering for Crystal,Sophia and Brett. I was stunned when I read the first chapter and then the story snowballed, I was warning them not Togo but try did not listen. When you read about everything going o in the country cub you just want them to destroy our and everyone associated with it. Loved this book. Great read. Is there another one? Hope so.

    24. Just awfulNo plot buildup, too much senseless gore, the baby scene was horrendous, too much mindless swearing, and awful grammar. Thankfully it only took me like two hours to read this and I can now move on with life. Very disappointed based upon the overall reviews. I would not recommend this to anyone.

    25. No club that I would want to be a part ofReminded me of the movie Hostel but I think this book was more gory. If your not into gory and disturbing books then I definitely recommend you don't read this book.

    26. Enjoyed this book. Loved the ending. Did remind me of the Hostel movies, which isn't a bad thing. Not sure why I love these kinds of books, but I do.

    27. As expectedIt was a good quick read . No surprises really it was exactly like you would think. But I would read more books from this author

    28. If you're not in the mood for thinking. If you want blood, gore and unrealistic action. AND if typos don't bother you then this story is for you.
