    1. First, I just have to say, the pictures in this book are absolutely awful. Some of them are downright garish; almost all the food looks dead, overdone, and completely unappetizing. (There are actually photographs of pickle-loaf slice 'artfully' arranged on a plate with slices of American cheese.)But the photography, along with many of the recipes, add largely to the kitsch value of the book.     2. ok, so i found this at an antique store kinda buried beneath some other thingsyway, it must have been owned by someone that never cooked, because it looks like it's never been usede recipes are a riot, as are the pictures.old cookbooks are so awesome's great to see where we've come from food wise

    3. My parents got this at their wedding. It's enormous and exhaustive, and for certain things it's very good (such as steamed puddings or salad dressing very good one made with ginger ale), but the print is kind of tiny, and the few color photographs are oddly unappetizing.
