    1. 3.5 stars. Enjoyable friends-to-lovers romance. This book is set over many years and follows Andrew and Caleb from childhood to adulthood and their enduring relationship over time. Each chapter is a vignette from one year to the next. Unfortunately there was too much sex (the guys are friends-with-benefits) and not enough plot for me to really fall in love with it. And the two men don't realize their attraction till the very end. They had barely acknowledged their love when the book suddenly sto [...]

    2. This review is for the second edition of this book, which includes a bonus chapter originally published in:This book frustrated me. There was too much angsty back and forth between Caleb and Andrew. I didn't like the huge leaps in time, and both MCs were so clueless, I wanted to shake them. I usually love the best-friends-to-lovers-trope, but it took WAY too long for these guys to have a come-to-Jesus-moment. Plus, even in book 4, Andrew's "bedside" manner made me cringe. He may have been a geni [...]

    3. Take two guys who have been best friends since early teens, then become sexually involved with each other in a casual way when both come out a few years later. Follow their story over a period of 20 years - covering family upsets, bad boyfriend choices and lifes general ups and downs, add to the mix some pretty hot love scenes a touch of humour and two endearing protags and overall you get a really enjoyable romance. To be honest the improbability factor is pretty high and by that I mean these gu [...]

    4. I just finished reading the book and well, I was not won over by the plot: Why was there a conflict? Why was the conflict solved? What really changed between Before the conflict resolution and After? I soooo didn't understand the WHYS of the characters actions that I couldn't connect to them. There was soooo much sex filling the pages, so many repetitive plot elements. That didn't help a potentially nice story develop interestingly. I was bored. It was NOT OKAY. If you want a great story from th [...]

    5. PER.FEC.TIONZUS!!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK!!!! I absolutely LOVE all the books in this series. Eeeek!! omfg!! I cannot express how fucking happy I am to see this is coming!! galkjdfal;skdjf!!! << Cannot Process Happiness

    6. 4.5 Stars. This book was by turns amazing and heart breaking to read. The thing this author does absolutely AMAZINGLY well is character development. Its fair to say I'm a little biased about CC because, I'm not sure there is a thing this author has written that I haven't adored. This story was vivid, real, funny, sad, bittersweet, and a thousand other different emotions. My only niggle is that (view spoiler)[ I wish we were able to see more about Caleb and Drew after they realized what they were [...]

    7. Well duh!! It's a CC book, there's bound to be lotsa sex, but this was a 2 decade long 'best friends with very frequent benefits' package. Both Drew and Cae needed a good slap to see sense, and I loved the tatts/piercings that Drew got to remind him of his exes. 4 stars from me.

    8. A Love Story of Caleb and Andrew~I freaking loved BOTH Caleb and Andrewbuteir actionsI did not really understand, or like. The Book as a Whole~*Friend to Loversok, now that was pure AWESOMNESS! 3 Stars~ ButThe written plot, gosh not my favorite. The flow, was slow .The smexy scenes, friends with benefitst my thing. The pace, well I wanted more pages once they finally got together :-(And Gosh, this storyline took forEVER for them to get to where they needed to be. And when they finally got there the [...]

    9. This wasn't the story I wanted for Andrew, or for Caleb, based on previous books. But it was a fabulous story that I never would have imagined, so I am content. Yesis story is sweet, a little frustrating, and I'm going to go back and re-red all the others to re-create the Emile CIty time line in my head. Okay- I'm going to go re-read all the others because I ENJOY the sense of contentment a Cardeno C books leaves me with's better than a tryptophan induced turkey coma

    10. A best friends with benefits to lovers story. Caleb and Drew have loved each other for so long, sharing all their firsts and continuing a sexual relationship whenever they saw each other while unattached as they were following their own paths through different towns and different life stages. Although they are so involved with each other and each is the other's rock, they never imagined themselves as a couple, potentially risking the friendship, even as they go from one failed relationship/one n [...]

    11. I just adore Cardeno C. books. His books are smooth, sweet and character driven. Even though this book was one big flashback, it absolutely worked. I enjoyed going through life with Andrew and Caleb. I loved that they were there for each even when they were apart. It was just a good story as all of them have been in the Home series.

    12. I really liked this book. It has a great progression on Andrew's and Caleb's friendship throughout 20 years. Their friendship starts at 14 and around age 18 become friends with benefits. each chapter is a year in their friendship and in most of the chapters they are having sex. So yeah there is a lot of sex in this book, but I have to say that it was good. Even for my own jaded have-read-too-much-erotica-nothing-can-move-me-anymore self the sex seemed "hot."I had initially given 5 stars to this [...]

    13. This is a friends to lovers m/m romance. Caleb and Andrew have been friends since they were 14 years old. Best friends. I really enjoyed watching Caleb and Andrew's friendship develop - they truly love each other unconditionally. And their chemistry is off the charts hot. But. Man did I want to reach into the book and shake some sense into them!!! Wake up, gentlemen. The man of your dreams is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. And when Andrew was with Drake.I can't even. Andrew is a brain surgeon, literally [...]

    14. A captivating love story of everlasting loyalty, friendship and love. This is the much anticipated story of Andrew and Caleb. They met when they were 8-years old and rekindled their friendship during a summer at the age of 14. From this moment on they are each others confidants and best friends - his yin to his yang. They were as different as could be, but regardless of that or because of it, the bond that they forged was unbreakable.Their bond was strengthened throughout the years. It started wi [...]

    15. The blurb sums it up well and others have written great reviews for this story, so I will try to keep this short and sweet. Caleb and Andrew have been friends since they were 14, the weeks in the summer they spent together was the highlight of their year. A steady and devoted friendship that spans 20 years develops, through everything they are each others touchstone, no matter what life throws at them, they love each other unconditionally and have such a great, deep and abiding friendship and un [...]

    16. I finished this book, but reluctantly. It starts off a bit slow, then surprisingly gets crazy erotic/sexual (if you like reading about rough oral sex, then this is probably a good book for you) then it slows down a ton. This book is basically just a waiting game The prologue shows us that these characters will in fact end up together, so it's just a waiting game to the end of the book to see the characters have the super obvious realization of: "Oh yeah, we are best friends with amazing chemistr [...]

    17. This story follows Caleb and Andrew from their early childhood over a period of about 20 years. They are very close friends and are each others 'firsts' (and in some cases 'only's') in everything. They support each other through life's ups and downs, with a lot of the story covering their failed relationships (and in between friends-with-benefits sex) as they look to find love. It is fairly obvious from the start that they should be looking towards each other. Their own statements back this up. [...]

    18. This wasn't a friends to lovers as much as it was a lovers to lovers story with delayed HEA. The fact that Caleb and Drew were in love with each other was clear to me from early on. They just kept their blinders on and didn't see the forest for the trees. I guess I understand that they were worried that a relationship would ruin their friendship, but my goodness, they were both really dense. Everyone else around them had figured it out long before they did themselves. It was nice to get a glimpse [...]

    19. My rating is a low 3 or a little under 3 stars. I enjoyed the parts of them growing up together and being young adults most. They were so sweet and open with each other. I wasn't as crazy about the part after they were fully grown. The guys and their behaviors/attitudes weren't as appealing for me then.

    20. 2.5 StarsCardeno C. usually delivers on either a romantic level or for the HEA I cravebut even though this has an HEA, the miscommunication leading up to it was frustrating for me. The miscommunication just didn't work for me.

    21. The best part of this book was Andrew and Caleb as teenagers and their summers together. Around the 50% mark I became bored with the weak plot and started to skim. How could they both be so clueless about the other?

    22. This was sweet and all, but the cluelessness was off-putting, and it kinda dragged. Kind of a lot.

    23. I really the way we see their love flourishing until the end. They're the nly ones that didn't see it coming. Great book

    25. Told in alternating POV, this is a friends to friends-with-benefits to lovers story with most chapters bringing a new year in the lives of best friends Andrew Thompson and Caleb Lakes. They've always had an unconditional love for each other, sharing all their firsts including their first kisses and all their first sexual moments. I really enjoyed Alexander Collins' narration. Though he doesn't do a huge difference in the Andrew and Caleb's character voices, he does a good job overall with the to [...]

    26. 4.5 stars ~ It's hard for me to believe that I'm already at book six in Cardeno C.'s 'Home' series and I love each and every book just as much as the prior ones. This author has a way of making every story unique, sexy, loving, emotional, and just plain wonderful. 'The One Who Saves Me' centers around a deep and abiding friendship that begins to change and the issues that can arise. It may seem like a stereotypical plot, but I've thought that before about the books in this series, and the author [...]

    27. Andrew and Caleb are best friends from early on who begin to explore their sexuality with one another as teenagers. When they split up for college, they continue their relationship as best friends who hook up if neither is in a relationship.Years pass and neither manages to find a permanent relationship that sticks. Caleb never really even tries, but Andrew yearns for a forever-man. However, Andrew is the most screwed up when it comes to his expectations of forever because his parent’s relatio [...]

    28. I am a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope, and The One Who Saves Me is an excellent example of it. Caleb and Andrew meet as kids, then again as teens (where their story actually begins) and we get to follow them from the time they are fourteen every year for the next twenty years. Each year gives us a glimpse into their friendship as it grows and flourishes, and eventually as it turns experimental when they start exploring their sexuality. It continues with their unique and unconventional a [...]

    29. Cardeno you pulled at my heart strings with this story. The story of Andrew and Caleb. Starting out as friends and growing to be so much more. Having their firsts with each other and growing old together. They share everything with one another from boyfriends to breakups. As each year goes by the guys friendship grows stronger and stronger. Then one day the guys get together and their world is turned upside down. The lines between friendship and lovers is crossed and they don't know how to be any [...]
