    1. Garth Ennis gave us a Marvel story that only he could write; obscure character, World War I flying machine and dinosaurs. However, writing a Marvel book blunted the effect an Ennis book would usually have; no blood, gore, sex acts and swearing. All of that was implied but nonetheless, it looked like something I'll enjoy. This reader's problem thought was that I only have the first issue and Ennis comic books are better enjoyed in a binge read of floppies or by trade. Still, editorial should be a [...]

    2. It was like watching an old adventure movie. What a ride! It's filled with clichés, the art is great, the writing is great (Garth Ennis), it's lighthearted. I'm looking forward to see what Ennis will do with this story in the next issues seeing it's a five issue mini-series. Overall great first issue!

    3. Short run of five issues collected for this graphic novel. Humor outstrips the action and the artwork is excellent.

    4. WW1 pilot vs dinosaursmebody at marvel sat down and said 'How can we get Travis to spend money on a tie in to an event he has no interest in?'.In the middle of big, marvel event, this obscure marvel historical hero gets a story which seems to have no connection to anything else in the Secret Wars series and it reads like a good, cheesy summer movie.Loses a star because it's Garth Ennis, so the hero has to be a dick, but otherwise a nice reminder of what makes comic books great: goofy ideas, lots [...]

    5. Thought I'd give another shot at Ennis. Well, the more I read of him, the more I'm convinced he's not the great writer his legion of fans make him out to be. Since this is part of Secret Wars, Ennis must restrain himself from his juvenile writing antics of excessive swearing and diarrhea humor, revealing that beneath the muck of his usual style is just another pedestrian writer. Albeit, one without reservations.
