    1. I was hoping for a good read but this was just okay. This is an alien romance with a ton of BDSM. It was just a little hard for me. My one reason I don't love a BDSM book is when both parties are not told of the rules or customs and then are punished when they do something wrong that they did not even know was wrong. It drives me crazy!!! Other than that it was just okay I couldn't get over the punishment thing when no rules were given.

    2. "Assigned a Mate" received 4 stars. The novel gained *STARS* for these items: * gained for: "The book caught my interest in first five pages."* gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."* gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story."* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I want more!"The novel failed to gain stars for these items:NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on [...]

    3. Love this book and series. Eva goes into the Interstellar Bride program for witness protection, where she meets her match in Tark. I really loved these two, they both had so much spirit and were both so enamoured with each other. This is one of my favorite sci-fi series. These are some of the hottest books for sure, and that always starts out during the first chapter because all brides have to go through "testing"wow and what test they go through. Love, love this series.

    4. Desert planet Trion was not what Eva envisioned as the escape to keep her life safe. She was to take on the role of a convicted on her world, Earth, to become part of the Interstellar Brides program. She arrives to find that things on Trion are far different than on Earth. She also finds that her matched mate is powerful, handsome , and High Councilor Tark. She also finds that he is highhanded and demanding. What could she offer such a world? She treated like a second class citizen. She is place [...]

    5. 5 Star… Holy Hotness Where Do I Sign Up?!!!!!“Assigned A Mate” was my introduction to Grace Goodwin, sci-fi romance books and more heat than the average Kindle can handle. No, seriously… I had to replace my Kindle and I’m certain it was connected to the extreme heat in this book! Since this random purchase, nearly a year after the book was published, I’ve ravenously consumed almost every one of Ms. Goodwin’s books (except the ménage story-lines… yeah, I get a little overwhelmed [...]

    6. I love romantic Sci-fi novels. This one seemed interesting and a bit unusual, so I purchased it. It was a delight. A quick read that left a smile on my heart. Some readers called this a BDSM novel. I did not see it that was as there was no agreed upon power exchange and certainly no written agreement of the consensual. It was pure romance. Eva, our heroine was an ER physician on Earth and unfortunately viewed a murder and could identify the culprit. The authorities were unsuccessful in apprehend [...]

    7. Rating: 4I really did enjoy the story, but at first I wanted to beat the hero up. It wasn't until about half way through the book did I understand why the heroine loved what he did with her when they were having sex. I don't mind a good insta love story, but the ending got a bit dull and I was hoping for some big rescue. On to the next book!

    8. Wow! This book really started with a bang. Hotness from page one! I was pleasantly surprised by this series. I avoided it fir a while thinking I wouldn’t like it. Pnr non-consent really isn’t my thing, but I really enjoyed this book. I mean it’s erotica people, it’s not a long drawn out storyline or anything but I liked the premise. Eva signs up for The Interstellar Bride Programme in order to hide out before giving testimony at a trial. Everyone thinks she’s a murderess whose run out [...]

    9. Summary: Not much to make a romance, or for me to feel much attachment to either character. I wish this was longer or that he made more than a zero effort to get her back. (Maybe in the next rewrite, he can make a huge heroic effort to get her back. ) The obstacles get resolved way too easily or quickly, and the characters don't get much chance to be heroic. Series Overall: Usually it's sort of like the "taming of Black Beauty", where the Beasts get tamed. Therefore, lots of beastly shenanigans: [...]

    10. I don't know about this one. I listened to the audiobook and wasn't really a fan of the voice actors. But with that said, the book was well written and had a solid storyline and premise. An interstellar pact for brides is in play and Earth sends female criminals to be brides. This case is the exception because the woman is not really a criminal but in the witness protection program awaiting her time to testify at a murderer's trial. Wow! I know, right?! This book is heavy on the bdsm, so if that [...]

    11. This book is great centered around a women in witness protection but hiding as a women who is a killer and there for entered into the programe of the mate programe. i also liked the fact of the science fiction element and that the time moved differently on each world in question.i actual thought that there was a piece of the book missing because it went straight into it no easing into it like some of them can do this was right i'm starting and not going to stop till i finish and i couldn't put i [...]

    12. I am re-reading this series in the recommended order of authors site. I really liked the prequel, this one didn't strike any chords for me. Meh. Ok, I have examined my feelings here it is: I don't like body piercing face, ears great not so much all the else - I think it sort of freaks me out that she was permanently chained with piercings - I mean what if one caught on something? Also he didn't respect her opinions or voice until she was proven to be amazing. That made me not fall for him like I [...]

    13. I think this is a good book and I liked Eva since she is a strong character and she decide to go to another planet to not get killed before the court where she will be a witness against a murder. Her mate is Tark who believes her too be a criminal who has killed another person. It was fun to see the relationship between them and when Eva was send back to earth what they both where thinking when they are separathed and what their feeling for each other is.

    14. IntenseThus story was intense and quite satisfying. I do admit to being appalled and intrigued by the customs on Trion. They were different and strange but interesting. Quite the claim to Dom/sub relations but I didn't find them unpleasant. The story moved quickly and time between planets was crazy too but totally understandable. So glad that she was a skilled healer, it really plays quite the role to the story!

    15. Interesting storyI love the idea of being able to volunteer to leave the dating up to a computer and how that computer matches not only the surface wants and needs but also desires that you are not even aware of. I enjoy a dominant male in my romances but so people do not so be warned that the warrior is all dominate male.

    16. Short little read, of course because it was so short it was pretty under developed but it was also fun and all to read.Of course it wasn't the perfect story but that's somewhat expected with these alien mates type stories, they're not meant to be unproblematic and perfect, they're more about the fantasy.

    17. This is the first book in this seriesThis series is going to be very great, I read books 4 and 5 and just The first one in the series, stories are hot, sexy keep you wondering what Will happen next and just how a marriage with two husbands Wil work but it sure seems t work just fine

    18. Good storyThis is the first story in this series. I had already read 2 stories, The Colony an off shoot of this series. So I decided that I needed to read the first this one ☝. I'm glad that I did go back and read it now. 📕 It's amazing how the author gets everything revolving around her characters.

    19. Assingned a MateIt was very good. It's difficult to find BDSM stories that are also willing to tackle the psychology behind it. This one does a good job of it. I hate that we didn't delve more into the background story, but at least I don't regret reading it. The sex scenes are somewhat graphic and profanity is used but not overwhelming.

    20. The sex scenes are pretty much the only point to this. I did not buy the insta-love at all, but it's actually pretty superfluous to the story, or lack thereof. Anything interesting about the system is nixed in favour of shoving as many sex scenes in as possible. At least it's honest about it though, and doesn't try to make itself into something it's not.

    21. I thought this was cheesy but fun. I really enjoyed the liberties that the author could take because the novella is Sci-Fi. I wish it had been a little longer so we could understand more about the new world that Eva was sent to, but other than that, I had a lot of fun with this one.

    22. Whew sexiest storyWhen picked for her mate she was a doctor running from murder charges. Of course she is innocent and ended up on witness protection, and boy does it heat up with her mate.

    23. Just finished reading this book! For such a short read a lot was packed in which I was Happy about! It was hot but still romantic and I can just tell I'm going to be a fan of Grace's works! Can't wait to read more of this series!!!

    24. It was good.I love syfy novels. Keep it up. I read last one. I like that too. I wonder if their going be anymore.

    25. Can't really decide I did really like the plot and all, but I feel like it had a lot of potential to go deeper than it did
