Importance of Proper Hind Leg Conformation EquiMed When choosing a horse, hind leg conformation is an important consideration because a horse with good hind leg conformation is likely to stay sound through the years Conformation of the hind legs and hindquarters of a horse is important because it plays a major role in how a horse moves and in Horse Conformation Head, Neck and Shoulders EquiMed The head should never be longer measured from poll to upper lip than the length of his neck measured from poll to withers The throatlatch area where the neck meets the head behind the jaws should be well defined and not too thick and meaty. 1. Original. Killer short story. It's got a bit something of Fight Club about it. Wasn't sure what to expect when I saw it was a humour book AND anti-utopian, but this is a genre mix I really got into. Played-out like a psychological boxing match between a group of desperate office workers all with their own, manipulative agendas. Relentless - sick - funny.Hell, I never want to work in a place like Orwell & Finch!!!

    2. I had the good fortune to meet Carla a few years ago, and she is a truly nice, kind warm person. But she has a sick and twisted mind, which means her books appeal to me greatly! From the Horse’s Mouth appears to be a humorous take on office life, but has a very dark side which takes the story in a very different direction to that which you expect. Stephen King would be proud of thisI loved it and heartily recommend!

    3. This as actually a very impressive short story based in the dull office of bankers. Fast delivery, strong plot, edgy, dark and slightly on the disturbed side. I have never read any of Carla's work before but I will be checking out her other stories. When I look around the office tomorrow I will definitely see things from a different light.

    4. Very funny, surprisingly disturbing and genuinely different to anything else I've read. In a good way. A very good way. The story is about a group of embittered, fearful, plain weird office workers being slowly oppressed and manipulated by their crazy manager, a guy called Maxwell D. Kalist. He's an insanely brilliant character who practices neighing like a horse in private – I mean, can it get any more inspired?? – hence the name of the story (and also, I read that the author draws a lot fr [...]

    5. On the very generously-sized plus side, I'm mad about the characters and writing style. Maxwell Kalist, Gottfried Baumauer, Ridley Obelmaker and Pamela Geiger are some of the funniest, darkest fictional folks I knowd I like dark books. Kalist is a bone-fide nutcase. He's scary and twisted up from the word go. It's convincing because it's so weird. So Kalist manages a team of clerks (Baumauer and Obelmaker are two of them; Kalist's secretary is Geiger) in a glass-fronted building that reminded me [...]

    6. Hilarious. No other word for it. Actually, there are plenty of other words! It's got abnormal wit, seriously. It's macabre, tasteless, packed full of hard truths and sharp as. I read the author's last short book and this is only a short STORY, but it's one of the weirdest, best things I've put my eyeballs to. Also, I'm amazed I'm first up to review, its kind of a privelege, but I follow her twitter and this was only released today, and the graphics are amazing, so I went and bought it Rest =hist [...]

    7. Cup of coffee in one hand, kindle in the other I settled in for another dark, funny, slightly twisted piece of brilliance from Carla. After having read her earlier stories I've been looking forward to seeing what was going to be next from inside that brilliant but slightly off kilter brain of hers, and I thoroughly enjoyed what was served up.Having worked in offices in the past with some very offbeat characters I could relate to some of the people in this story in some ways. Carla manages to inha [...]

    8. Maxwell D Kalist is an office manager who whinnies like a horse when in private, and keeps a box of dolls in his desk drawer. These dolls resemble his employees, and takes the dolls out and plays out unfolding drama with them. Seems strange? Maybe. But maybe not. Do we really know what those in power do in private? Kalist knows those who work for him better than any of them think. He plays upon their ambitions, frustrations and longings. He manipulates them for his own amusement. While many do n [...]

    9. This was the first time I ever read anything by Carla Krueger. She's since added four more short stories to this set and I've read them all. This was easily my favourite, hence the five stars. It's so cool and cruel! All of the characters were equally fascinating and horribly flawed and the things they do made me cringe with embarrassment and disgust at times! But it's impossible to look away and before I knew it I was hooked. Such a short read, but the writing is fast, humorous and vibrant. Som [...]

    10. Taut, expertly executed, very very funny short book. Big fan of the writing style. The story is wild, as the blurb says. Immaculate observations, hilariously dark, twisted humour that's right up my street and a bucketfull of mad lines I'm still repeating. Kalist is the protagonist and he must be one of the most creative characters in existence. He's a bank manager who uses a cane made out of gorilla bones, moulds dolls into the shapes of his staff and sits in his office neighing like a horse. Ge [...]

    11. Picked this book because I loved the cover. Yes, guilty! Happily surprised by the story within. Author's writing is sharp and witty. The book takes risks but they all pay off and even though it's a very short story, it's just so different to anything else I've read. Dark, entertaining, freaky, loved.
