    1. Congratulations Henderson! You made me cry and laugh and cry. Wasn't too much of a mystery as it was focused more on the tragedy and Jennifer. The romance was slow and sweet. The struggles Rachael faced were real and they were hard. I like the realism of the school shooting and in Jennifer's death. The point where I started bawling like a baby was here:The sun appeared over the hillside. "I'm tired, Tom."It's okay to go home," he choked."Hold my hand?"His arms tightened around her and his fingers [...]

    2. I adored this book. So many emotions running through it! The O'Malley's are one of my favorite fictional families ever. I love how the siblings relate to one another, and how they all stand behind each other. One thing I didn't quite understandrhaps those who have read it would know. ;) (view spoiler)[ Was the shooting from the beginning of the book ever solved? And the school shooting? I read through it twice, yet I couldn't figure it out.(hide spoiler)]All in all a wonderful book! (But super s [...]

    3. Oh, Rachel, how I love you. Strong and together. And Cole. I haven't read this book in at least 5 year, but I still have fond memories of certain scenes. Flooded driveways. Middle names. Sorry. I'm rambling, not reviewing, now. I loved this series as a teenager. The self-made family. And Rachel was a favorite. Rachel. Marcus. Lisa.Stephen, Jack, and Kate were great too. And Sara. But Rachel has my heart. Now I want to go back and read her again. Anyway, Rachel's story is a hard one. The losing n [...]

    4. This book was AMAZING! I love the O'Malley family! The Healer made me smile, laugh, and cry. I have loved every book by Dee Henderson so far.

    5. I think this is the best book of the O'Malley series so far! It focuses more on how Christians handle a death that comes too soon, and the dilemma of why God would allow such a thing to happen. The romance between Cole and Rachel was quiet and slow-building, and a good bit of the groundwork had been laid in the previous book. The mystery was also quite interesting and relevant to current domestic events. It was a very powerful book, one that made me cry at the end of it. Would definitely recomme [...]

    6. This book Yeah, I was tearing up at the end. If I wasn't sick, I would have been crying. So good, yet it hurts so much. I am sad I only have one book left.

    7. This was one of my favorite books in the O'Malley series (perhaps because I identify most with Rachel's character.) It is gratifying to see the character grow, change, and develop.

    8. I'm reading this all out of order. This was actually the first O'Malley book I picked up, and it was certainly a doozy. A school shooting, always tragic, and the resulting investigation while trying to deal with a family medical issue puts ever-more stress on Rachel. The self-built O'Malley family pulls together when needed, watching over each other professionally as well as in their private lives, but something may give if she can't.

    9. I love of all of O'Malley Series books and enjoy reading them again every few years. Muddy floods would not be my favorite subject to write a book around, but I learned a lot about floods and the effects they have on everything they touch. I can't say more, because I don't want to spoil anyone's read, but it was a terrific book!

    13. An extremely emotional book. Dee Henderson has a way of completely wrapping you up in her characters in a way few other authors can truly achieve. Their emotions become yours. This is a major plot development in the O'Malley series. Cole and Rachel's relationship development seemed a little flat to me compared to the other novels but Rachel herself was very well developed & the reader is really drawn into her character. I think the lack of the relationship building was in part due to the way [...]

    14. I love this series by Dee Henderson. This book brings to life one of the issues that unfortunately we live with today. A school shooting. It is a difficult subject for parents to think about. This story actually takes you there and makes you aware of alot of aspects most never think of, but behind it all is God as our strength. It shows a young lady who is always helping others and now when she needs help she learns to trust in God. This entire series shows everyday people being led to the Lord. [...]

    15. The Healer was probably the saddest book out of the whole O'Malley series. Rachel O'Malley tries to work out the shooting at a local school, while dealing with her sister dying with cancer. I was sitting on the edge of my seat during the shooting, cringing and picturing it all. Really, really touching.

    16. I love this series. I like the Christian background, the feel of God used by the Author. The ties within the family are also one of the most important parts of the books. She has a gift for drawing you in, and making you feel like you are part of the story. Recommend this series for adult readers. Am using same review for all books.

    17. This may be my favorite book in the series so far. Perhaps because by this point, I REALLY know the characters. Perhaps because there's a ton of tension, "mystery," romance, and bittersweetness, so it's a well-rounded book that took me through a whirl of emotions. Regardless, I loved reading this book. I'm going to be sad when I read the next one and my adventures when the O'Malleys are over!

    18. You know a book is good when you find yourself praying for the characters halfway through it. Granted, it was 3 in the morning but I'd say it's because of the amazing depth the characters have that made me start thinking of them as "real people". This book will turn you into a pile of mush and you will be awed at how this storyline stays with you.

    19. It is a good thing I wasn't wearing mascara because it would have been dreadfully smudged by the end of this book. This book, along with the others that I have read have been superb in my opinion. I cannot wait to read the next one. :-)

    20. How do explain this book efficiently? This book was amazing! I cried when Jennifer died, I laughed with the jokes, this book was very good. It's hard it bejesus that there is only 1 more left in the O'malley series!

    21. Faith as a topic was not integrated well into the story line. Relationships were not well developed and main characters were too perfect. Most dramatic event of the story was merely a side issue. Whole story line was loosely put together.

    22. This was hard.Knowing what Rachel does for a living and knowing how much she feels, I knew it would be a tough book. Rachel feels deeply and Dee Henderson does a phenomenal job conveying that feeling. Rachel is trying to help kids deal with the loss of their homes during a flood. Days later, she is in the middle of a double-school shooting. Now she's not only helping kids who've lost their homes and possessions, she's trying to help kids deal with the fear and grief of a school shooting, while t [...]

    23. 4 solid stars. I truly enjoyed Rachel and Cole, and I'm kind of looking forward to reading about Stephen. I love the comfort these books seem to emanate, and the way the O'Malleys rally around each other, even in the darkest of moments. I still find myself thinking about the way it just can't be possible for everyone to be able to work around each other's schedules when they need to. That all the O'Malleys and their spouses are in jobs that are demanding, and often notoriously stressful, so it's [...]

    24. Book #5 in the series and this was hard to read without Kleenex nearby.Dee Henderson does a beautiful job in this book of showing how God carries us through overpowering grief, pain, and tragedies. God's words in Exodus ring true in this book "I am the Lord your Healer. Remember us today. It is your healing touch we now desperately need."

    25. Very good story with interesting sub plots. After Stephen's book was a disappointment, the author rebounded with Rachel & Cole - they had a great connection. I felt the school shooting was a very believable way to focus on Rachel's job. In addition, the conclusion of Jennifer's battle was so well done. Absolutely loved it.

    26. Oh my goodness. I am NOT someone who enjoys "good cries", but this book had me in tears multiple times. The emotions, the tragedies, the love. This was such a fantastic book. By far my favorite of the O'Malley Series.
