    2. This is a book of unintended consequences. A thoroughly-referenced thesis of all the things that can't possibly be anticipated, no matter how well intentioned the objective. It's a great object lesson in how we invariably make things worse when we vainly strive to make things better. But, sadly, it's a lesson our leaders and so-called visionaries never seem to learn. The book takes you painfully through one example after another. judicial reform, to consumer protection regulations, to CAFE stand [...]

    3. I thought this book was reasonably well written, but it is not as good as Robert Zubrin's Merchants of Despair.

    4. 4 stars.A sobering presentation of "democide," the mass murder of citizens by their own government. Dunn makes a solid case that Liberalism's policies have killed more people than many wars have--and not indirectly either, as some unfortunate collateral damage, but directly. Dunn covers criminal justice, the tens of millions dead due to the DDT ban, abortion, environmentalism's "deep ecology," the homeless, and stem cells to name the main topics. His half-chapter on euthanasia was weak, ignoring [...]
